The MSc in Digital Humanities is a joint postgraduate program offered by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the University of Cyprus, and the ATHENA Research Center. It is devoted to the advanced study of the Digital Humanities, as these are necessary for the protection of the digital heritage internationally. It offers four specializations:
► Data Analytics for Humanities
► 3D Technologies
► Augmented Textual Studies
► Geographic Information Systems
The Program creates career opportunities for its graduates in the fields of cultural heritage, publishing and online services. By completing the Program the students will:
- become familiar with the main digital tools used in the Humanities internationally, especially in museums, libraries, archives, multimedia and new media companies, internet companies, publishing houses and online businesses.
- be able to use Geographical Information Systems (GIS) applications in the Humanities,
- acquire basic programming skills,
- become familiar with scripting and markup languages,
- become familiar with the methodology of the Data Sciences,
- learn to design and use databases and data repositories for the Humanities,
- become familiar with the curation and management of digital data repositories,
- familiarize themselves with 3D technologies,
- create digital models of objects, monuments and landscapes.
